Director of Patient Services – DPS – RNs only – Licensed Home Care Agency

Description

Outstanding opportunity for a Director of Patient Services (DPS) with an exceptional track record of positive outcomes who is driven to set and achieve successful goals.

We are currently seeking a Director of Patient Services (DPS) to manage our growing team. The ideal candidate would be an experienced home care RN with previous supervisory experience.

As a SARA DPS, you must have knowledge of regulatory requirements as per the NYSDOH. The DPS needs to be able to assess clients’ home care needs, have the ability to establish an appropriate Plan of Care, and document the report in our company’s software.

Job Requirements

The Director of Patient Services assumes the authority, responsibility and accountability for directing the home care program.

· The DPS must be able to supervise and evaluate staff nurses.

· The DPS is responsible for the agency maintaining compliance with the NYS Department of Health (DOH), NYS Managed Long Term Care (MLTC) guidelines, rules and regulations.

· The Director of Patient Services provides insight and leadership to effectively collaborate with clinical, administrative and executive staff to deliver overall outstanding patient care and serves as an essential component that contributes to the success of the Agency.

· This position is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the clinical operations

· Quality assurance of the home care program for adults and children

· Responsible for supervising Pediatric Special Needs home care

· Will manage the HHA Training School (with curriculum approved by the NYSDOH)

· Facilitates trainings to both administrative and clinical staff, in a team setting and individually, to ensure all competencies are met in their respective discipline

· Implements policies and procedures

· Facilitates clinical management of patients

· Participates in patient care assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation

· Ensure plans of care are reviewed and continually monitored for appropriate frequency, clinical content, documentation, and referrals to other disciplines

· Ensure the timely and appropriate assignment of staff to new and existing patients

· Facilitate/manage on call duties and staff

· Participates in licensing, accreditation surveys and reviews

· Serves on various committees and promotes favorable public relations

Qualifications:

· Have a current and unencumbered Registered Nurse License in the State of New York

· Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nursing

· Worked for a home care agency for at least 5 years with at least 3 years of in a management position.

· Possesses a current driver’s license in good standing, current liability insurance, and reliable automobile transportation.

· The ideal candidate must be knowledgeable about the guidelines, rules and regulations of the NYSDOH and MLTCs pertaining to licensed home care agencies.

Salary – $120,000 to $175,000 annually
