At SARA, we know that your Home Health Aide makes a difference in your life. He or she will be with you for many hours a week, so it’s important to have the one that suits your needs in order to have an exceptional home care experience. And your Personal Caregiver is going to be your daily connection with SARA. That’s why we provide training to even the most experienced aides every single year at SARA.

We have a wonderful team of Home Health Aides, many who have been trained right here at SARA in our HHA Training Center. Before entering our school or becoming a SARA, potential aides are screened by our HR Compliance team to see if they meet the criteria and exhibit the personal traits needed to be an excellent caregiver.

SARA’s HHA Training program is free for all our caregivers to recruit and train the most skilled, knowledgeable and positive aides in New York. The RN Instructors have decades of experience teaching.

Many of our HHAs have been caring for seniors and people with health concerns for years. They are empathetic, caring, skilled and knowledgeable. Our caregivers know that they are responsible for attending to the entire well-being of their client in terms of physical and mental health needs. Whether the caregiver be a recent graduate of our HHA Training school or is very experienced, the processes we have put in place during the interviewing and orientation program ensure that they are well trained, have a good personality and will be exceptional caregivers.

Every caregiver at SARA must be a certified HHA or PCA. Beyond those credentials, we also provide training to ensure that they meet up to the high standards of SARA. Our DPS and RN Instructor engage with the caregivers during training to show them the proper care techniques if they are new to the field, or to refresh and upgrade the knowledge of caregivers with many years of experience.

In addition to required skills, we instill in every SARA caregiver the importance of empathy, connection, respect, and communications, while broadening their knowledge base. We teach them what it means to provide an elite level of care.
